Yoga Teacher Training Retreat in India
Traditional 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Retreat in India with Yoga Alliance certification.
In India, the 200 hours Yoga Instructor Course (YIC) is a Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course designed for advanced students who wish to immerse themselves in the rigorous practices of Hatha Yoga in a tranquil setting. It is also designed for students who wish to take their practice in a more sharpened way. There is a balance of theory and practice in the yoga teacher training program, and teaching is an essential part of the training.
A considerable amount of time is devoted to the practice of breathing, meditation, philosophy, and the art of living an ordinary life steeped in modernity while embracing yoga principles. Thus, the teacher training is a holistic program designed for not only yoga aspirants but for anyone looking to undergo a transformative change in their mind and body and to gain a deeper insight into the journey of living.
In this teacher training course, aspiring yoga instructors will learn to practice and teach a traditional style of Hatha Yoga that seeks to optimize the spine’s anatomy in all asanas rather than emphasize a blend of flow and speed which is counterproductive to the spine’s anatomy.
Traditional Hatha Yoga also pays attention to the Chakras as the subtle energy body and strives to tailor the asana practice to the individual’s psychosomatic profile instead of using a pre-recorded template asana sequence. Students learn Traditional Hatha Yoga with the inclusion of pranayama and yoga nidra.
In our ashram, unlike modern hatha yoga, the other style is that we emphasize the balance of Stability (Sthira) with breath, bodily-controls, sustained attention, and alignment of the eight joints to extend the duration of the asana. We train aspiring yoga teachers to avoid fast-paced flows which rely on overdrive, ignoring fundamental anatomy of joints and spine, simply to elevate heart rate and stimulate muscle activity without the proper breath, or prana, to the muscles and heart.
This 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in India provides the essentials of professionally sharing the wisdom of yoga, both physically and intellectually. Even if you don’t plan on teaching, yoga’s detoxifying philosophy enriches the body, the mind, and the intellect. In addition, it assists you in understanding life’s purpose and how to live in today’s chaotic world.
